Atchison  Farmers’ Market Fresh, Friendly, LocalMarket E-Newsletter, Wednesday, July 13, 20162:30 to 5:30 p.m.Amelia Week Temporary Location: 7th and Kansas Ave. Across from the Post Office Are you ready for the Amelia Fest?  Will you have friends and family coming for the weekend?  To save time on the weekend, you can buy some produce and meat products at Wednesday’s market and prepare some dishes in advance.  (Then get those last minute needs at Saturday’s market.) Don’t forget to register for the August 6th Market Bundle Give Away.  Lynn Hoffman, the market manager, has registration forms. Double your SNAP benefits ($1 to $25 per market day.)  Even better changes to this program coming this Saturday.  Watch for the news! Remember that you can use your credit, debit or SNAP (vision) card at the Market Manager’s stand.  She will give you tokens to use as cash at the vendor stands.  We have Atchison Farmers’ Market gift cards in the amount of $10 that you can give as gifts and use at the Market.  We also accept Chamber of Commerce gift cards and Kansas Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program coupons.  There are still be some coupon packs available for those who qualify at the Salvation Army or the Area Agency on Aging. Ghost Roast Coffee  (Rita and J.D. Hartman, Zach Wolfe and Melissa Wolfe)   Will return to the Market next Wednesday.  This Saturday, they will be on the Mall for Amelia Fest. New Vendor J&K Pollock Ranch    Hamburger, steaks, ham steaks, and roasts, bread and eggs.  Ask them about ordering special cuts or types of meat. Jirak Family Produce (Mark, Theresa and Family)  Sweet corn, zucchini, golden zucchini, and yellow squash. L&R Farms (Monie Frakes)  Peaches, cucumbers, tomatoes, Candy onions, new potatoes, zucchini, yellow squash, daikon radishes, cabbage, kohlrabi, kale, collards, turnips, sweet & hot banana peppers, jalapeños, and sweet potatoes. Long View Farm (Gunther & Betty Fischer)  Blackberries, new potatoes (Yukon gold, Mountain Rose, and a few Purple Majesty), leeks, garlic (Music), onions, shallots, and zucchini all grown chemical free,  French bread, homemade pure fruit jams, and brown eggs from pastured chickens. Lynn Hoffman (Market Manager)  Pies by Pauline, jam, fruit breads, salsa, relish, and dog biscuits. McLenon Produce (Rob and Pat McLenon)  Will return Saturday.
