Atchison Farmers’ MarketFresh, Friendly, LocalOpen through October 28Market E-Newsletter, Wednesday, October 18, 20172:30 – 5:30 p.m. There are four more Market days left this season. It is time to stock up for your winter pantry! So many vegetables have a long "shelf life" if stored properly: butternut, spaghetti, and other winter squashes, sweet potatoes, regular potatoes, garlic, onions, and more. Of course, there are always jams and jellies to enjoy over the winter. Begin your fall purchases this Wednesday, 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Atchison Farmers' Market. If you have Kansas Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition coupons, you must use them before November 1. See Debbie Genova, market manager at the green and white striped tent, to swipe your credit, debit, or SNAP cards. We participate in the Double Up Program for SNAP users. You can support your Farmers' Market by buying a Plant a Carrot sign to put in your yard and/or "I love my Farmers Market" bumper sticker.
