Happy Independence Day Weekend. We have fresh sweet corn at the market! We have other mid-summer items: garlic, green beans, leeks, cilantro and tomatoes.
Last weekend we had a super market with the baby animals here. They have promised to come again in late summer. This weekend we again have the Atchison Art Association, who will begin the Farmers’ Market art wall project as soon as the mosaic tiles arrive.
This Saturday, we will have the July drawing and bundle give-away. See Lyn Hoffman to sign up for the August give-away.
If you know of any groups wanting to promote their community activities, music groups or other fun activities, let us know so we can make a spot for them at the Market.

Recipe of the Week: New potatoes cook very quickly and are tender and delicious. Here is a recipe that only takes a few minutes.
Garlic Dill New Potatoes
Ingredients:
8 medium red potatoes, cubed
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
2 teaspoons minced garlic
¼ teaspoon salt
Directions:
Place the potatoes in a steamer basket, and set in a pan over an inch of boiling water. Cover, and steam for about 10 minutes, until potatoes are tender but not mushy.
In a small bowl, stir together the butter, dill, garlic, and salt. Transfer the potatoes to a serving bowl, and pour the seasoned butter over them. Toss gently until they are well-coated.
