Atchison  Farmers’ MarketFresh, Friendly, LocalOpen through October 28Market E-Newsletter, Saturday, October 14, 20178 a.m.– noon Fall has come quietly ("on little cat feet") to engulf our gardens in fog to prepare them for winter. But the market still has plenty of produce, some of which can be stored for months for winter enjoyment. Think of squash, sweet potatoes, jams, jellies, and more that you can enjoy at Thanksgiving and throughout the coming months. We have five more market days. Come, meet  your friends, including our farmer/vendors, and choose your produce for the week this Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon.  There will be plenty of recipes for you to take home, too. The Market Manager, Debbie Genova, (green and white striped tent) can swipe your credit, debit or SNAP cards. We participate in the Double Up Food Program and the Kansas Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program. Buy your Farmers Market gift cards ($10) from Debbie and we accept Chamber of Commerce gift certificates. You can support your Farmers' Market by buying a Plant a Carrot sign to put in your yard and/or "I love my Farmers Market" bumper sticker.
